The pioneers of Malaysia's exploration and production sector, Shell first set up operations in Sarawak in 1910 and laid the foundations for an industry that would later help to fuel the growth of the nation. Almost one century later, and now operating as contractors to PETRONAS, Shell Malaysia Exploration and Production (SM-EP) companies continue to extract and deliver petroleum efficiently, profitably and in environmentally friendly and socially responsible ways to meet evolving customer needs and the growing demand for energy. It was incorporated on 20th July 1921 and is wholly owned by Shell Petroleum Company Limited (the ultimate shareholder for Shell Holdings (Bermuda) Limited, The Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company Limited and The Asiatic Petroleum Company Limited).

Sabah Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd (993229-W)
It was incorporated in UK on 7th July 1938 and is wholly owned by Shell Petroleum Company Limited (the ultimate shareholder for The Asiatic Petroleum Company Limited and Shell Petroleum Company Limited).

Shell Petroleum (Malaysia) Limited (993418-M)
It was incorporated in Bermuda on 31st July 1985 and is wholly owned by Shell Petroleum Company Limited (the ultimate shareholder for Shell Overseas Holdings Limited).

Shell Sabah Selatan Sdn Bhd (228504-T)
It was formed on 7th November 1991 and is wholly owned by Shell Petroleum N.V.

Shell Oil and Gas (Malaysia) LLC (993830-X)
The company was incorporated in the island of Nevis on 2nd June 1997, with 90% interest held by Shell Petroleum (Malaysia) Limited and 10% held by Japex (U.S.) Corp.

Shell Exploration and Production Malaysia, B.V. (993963-V)
It was incorporated in Netherlands on 29th November 1991 and is wholly owned by Shell Petroleum N.V.

CS MUTIARA PETROLEUM SDN BHD (554474-A)
It was incorporated on 27th July 2001, with 50% interest held by Shell Exploration and Production Malaysia B.V. and 50% held by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd.
