Gem Island Resort & Spa has been operating the retreat for more than 10 years now. The Resort is located exclusively on Gemia Island, where access by boat is only a mere 15 minutes from Marang Jetty on the mainland.

Reflective if its name, the island is indisputably a gem, it is one of the few privately owned isles in tropical and beautiful Malaysia. Curiously, albeit a blessing, it has not been devoured by mass tourism despite being virtually at the doorstep of the mainland. It has thus been mercifully spared of the problems that beset other over-commercialized islands, where holiday makers were often robbed of the idyllic vacation they seek.
